Nicole Hodge Amey founded the Law Offices of Nicole Hodge Amey to help parents of children with disabilities navigate California public schools when the education process breaks down. The firm addresses special-education legal issues, including IEP disputes, due-process matters, school discipline concerns, and education-related disability-rights questions.
The work is not centered on promising large settlements. The focus is educational: helping families understand what their child needs, what the law requires, and what next step may move the school district toward an appropriate plan.
Nicole was born and raised in Oakland. She attended Merritt College, earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. Spanish-language assistance is available for families who prefer it.

Meet Team LONHA
Ty Amey, Director of Legal Operations
Ty Amey brings more than a decade of leadership experience to the firm, beginning with his time at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Born and raised in Lynwood, California, Ty graduated with a B.S. in Engineering Management with a minor in Civil Engineering and received a presidential commission as an officer in the United States Army.
When injury cut his military career short, Ty brought his leadership experience to the private sector, serving in staffing roles with PepsiCo and Nestlé, where he successfully led manufacturing and route-sales teams in productivity, sales, development, and safety. Ty is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., coaches football in his spare time, and enjoys reading, strategy games, and outdoor activities.
